Gloria Fox has faithfully served the people of the 7th Suffolk District as their State Representative. She has spent her adult life advocating for human, social and economic development issues for those whose voices need to be heard. Representative Fox has historically held a distinctively high rating on all issues that concern basic human services and community development and is well known for advocating the concerns of families. As a result of Representative Fox’s work, significant reforms in the Department of Social Services foster care program were recommended and implemented. She continues to be a community activist and has always been committed to inclusionary politics. Her work is guided by input from the residents of her District. The series of challenges that we will continue to face together will be to give our children a better chance at gaining a valuable education, allowing our families affordable housing, accessible and healthy transportation services, closing the gap on health care disparities, stable jobs, a clean environment and most importantly, a safe living environment for all our citizens both young and old. Representative Fox was raised as a foster child, and is the proud mother of two sons and currently assists in the raising of her five grandchildren. She lives by her life motto: “If you have a purpose in which you can believe, there’s no end to the amount of things you can accomplish.” –Marion Anderson-
